Hong Kong Victoria Park

Accompanying my husband on a business trip to Asia and will be arriving in Hong Kong at 2:55 PM and leaving at 9:15 Am. Staying at the Hyatt Regency Hongkong,Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon . Will we have time to take the Star Ferry and visit Victoria Park/ Peak Tram?
Thanks

No problem. We stayed in Kowloon. No more than an hour after we checked in at our hotel, we were on the peak. The ferry ride is fairly short. You should have time for a lot more in that time.

Agree with above. No sweat.

If you are landing at 3pm you should have perfect timing to get to your hotel, check-in, freshen up and then head straight for the Peak to watch the sun set and all the lights come on. Pray for a clear day and you'll be able to see China.

After admiring the view, you might have dinner at the Peak Cafe (very good) or the Deco Cafe (haven't tried it yet).

After you eat, check out Temple Street Night market and Ladies' Market and do some shopping. Be sure to haggle!

Have fun! That is the most drop-dead gorgeous skyline in the world!

Lynn
<BR

I would recommend making reservations for the Peak Cafe prior to your arrival in Hong Kong. The restaurant is very good and will be an enjoyable way to spend your evening in Hong Kong.

I'm afraid the Peak Cafe is under decoration. Can try Movenpick Restaurant at the Peak Tower (even better the Cafe Deco, cos some of the view is being blocked by Peak Tower).

Peak Cafe is indeed closed, not just for decoration, as they lost the bid to renew the lease. I would recommend Cafe Deco (ask for a window seat for the great seaview to go with the delicious food). It is owned by the same group that operated the Peak Cafe and I understand that they are offering a selections from the menu of the Peak Cafe.

Also, I would recommend the Hong Kong Park instead of Victoria Park. An oasis of green amid the urban landscape, Hong Kong Park (Admiralty MTR station via Pacific Place) with an aviary (150 species of birds in a tropical rainforest setting), greenhouse, the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre, fountains, lily ponds, playgrounds, and a Tea-ware Museum.

At the Victoria Park, the only thing that might be interesting to a visitor is the old statue of the Queen Victoria.

My 2 cents.

Thanks for all your responses and hints. I thought that Victoria Park was where the Peak Tram was located. Am I wrong?

Joan,
The Peak Tram Station is next to Hong Kong Park (not Victoria park). You can take the open-top shuttle bus at Star Ferry Pier in Central to tram station.
