Hong Kong Cosmopolitan Hotel

I'm looking to stay in Hong Kong for a week, during the Spring. I would like to stay on the HK side and have seen some great deals for Cosmopolitan Hotel. I believe it's fairly new & was wondering if anybody has stayed there, heard anything about it-->interested in pros & cons of the place. Thanks!

I think it just opened late last year. I noticed it during my Christmas trip to Hong Kong, that its location used to be the Xinhua News Agency, i.e. the official Chinese Embassy to Hong Kong, before 1997.

Anyways, I am seeing some great rates of the hotel from some websites, but its location isn't the best, as it's quite a walk (in Hong Kong standard) to the MTR train, or the shopping district in Causeway Bay (15 minutes or so). However, several line of tunnel buses as well as the buses to Stanley stops very close to it.

Also, I believe some of the higher-level rooms should have a decent view of the Happy Valley Racecourse. There're usually night races on Wednesday at that venue.

J-Michaels,

The cosmopolitan hotel is fairly new and sometimes I really like new hotels with their frilly service, clean floors and cheap prices !

However its location is just about short of the "prime" that we always look for.
However HK is a small place & if you love walking, this hotel is never far from any mkt, train staion of bus stop (rkk's reply says it all).

You will love the small "city race course" just a stone throw from this property. Racing there is on every Wed night. So don't miss the action & the million $$ & do visit the small lovely race museum located in the very premises of the course!
