Honeymoon in Bali

Hi All,

We are planning to go for our honeymoon to Bali in the month of January. We like bit of adventures and want to relax and have good peaceful time near beaches. We certainly love unique and ethnic places to stay and not five star suits( Also privacy is must). We are thinking to stay back in Bali for a week time, where things what we are looking for is some beach parties occasionally. We wouldn't mind to experience a bit water sport - if thats available not mandatory.

Is there a option of private beach? which is not accessible to others?

As said, since its our honey moon, we want some nice villa/ Hotel, where we can stay calm n lay lazily! I am also looking at some stay options which is affordable and worth enough to spend! We dont want to stay too far frm the local charm, we are looking forward for some place which is accessible for shopping and other things. Have heard about Novotel hotel - is it located at good place??

Need your suggestion, to make our honeymoon better!! please share your thoughts on the same.

i prefer sanur for the beach--the hyatt there is nice--bali hyatt.

in ubud look at alam shanti---small and nice... the gangga room is private and large with a private pool shared only with the room below... worth the extra money.. free shuttle into town for dinner and/or shopping

If you ill consider substititing a gorgeous setting wil pool for pool then 2 olaces to consider that by US standards would be 4+ star standards are the Chedi Club and the Hanging Garden. You are talking $400-$500/tay with the 20% that all hotels charge and both offer great great breakfasts.

I would avoid Nusa Dua. Yes, the beach is nice but it is totally a tourist enclave. If you want a taste of Bali, stay elsewhere. I also like Sanur, an I'd recommend some time in Ubud as well. Do you have enough time to stay in two locations?

Unfortunately, the person who first responded telling you about a wonderful villa near Ubud was an advertiser, so that post was deleted.

Another place to consider in Ubud with lots of privacy and beautiful grounds is Warwick Ibah Villas and Spa. We stayed there in May and it was one of the nicest places we have ever stayed in (and we travel a lot and don't mind paying for good hotels) The grounds are amazing, you feel like you are in an enchanted castle. Our room/villa was Jasmin and it was on the top floor at the very end of the hotel and we felt like we were alone in the world, just us and the forest - it was amazing, and this was one of the cheapest rooms. If you can afford to pick one of the villas with the private pool I am sure it would be even better. They also have a free shuttle to the city, but they are so close that most of the time, we would take a shuttle to go in, then would walk back home.

Ann7544: Can you tell me how much you paid for your room here? I looked at the web site and I can't seem to get a nightly rate. There is no rate chart showing the various prices. I'll be in Bali next August and want to stay in Ubud for 3 of the 6 nights I plan to be there.
