Home from Malaysia

Hi folks, we made it home. Got back home about midnight after a 24+ hour haul. Couldn't get bumped since the flight wasn't quite full, just packed enough to make it miserable. At least there were no screaming kids on the HK-Vancouver leg. Managed about 4 and 1/2 hours sleep last night so as you can imagine, I'm pretty wiped out.

I will NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER route through Vancouver again! From now on, it's the shortest flight, not the cheapest. I'm getting too old for these 24+ hour flights in coach. When we go to Indonesia and Thailand next spring, we are taking the Thai non-stop from JFK-BKK and most likely upgrading to premium economy, providing Thai still has a non-stop. I read the post about the cutbacks with some dismay. Anyway, will start a trip report soon, possibly later today if I can stay awake and manage to see and think straight.

I'd like to say it's good to be home, but it's not. Seeing my cat is always good though. I missed her.

Glad you made it home, safe and sound. Welcome back!

I understand the jetlag, having just slept for about 12 hours straight, night before last, and another 9 last night! I'm just home from BKK since Tuesday so my body doesn't know for sure what time it is.

Will be looking forward to your report on Malaysia!
