Helpful thoughts on a Nepal/India trip?
Hello,
A couple of friends and I are going to Nepal, and possibly to India, this September through December. This is pretty open ended: Does anyone have suggestions on things to do/things to avoid/customs to be aware of/places not to miss/realistic traveling points among India, Nepal, and China/etc.? Really, anything would be helpful at this point, even weather for that time of year and vaccinations to get.
Thanks so much!

I was in Nepal in November and wrote a long report about the Kathmandu Valley. If you click on my name you'll go to my profile which lists recent trip reports. Just click on my Nepal report.

Are you arriving via Delhi or where is your India entry point?
The huge Hindu festivals of Dusshera and Divali will occur while you are there. Sept. 28th for Dusshera and October 17th for Divali.
If you haven't been before, Delhi is worth a couple of days (2 to 4).
