The site recognized Fukuoka as a small town in Hokuriku(main island). There is no JR shinkansen Fukuoka in Kyushu, aren't there? If you are taking Sanyo Shinkansen, there are only 2 station Kokura & Hakata on Kyushu Island and Hakata is Fukuoka's shinkasen staton. You can just put your departure station (eg.Osaka or Hiroshima) and Hakata as destination. Hiroshima-Hakatan is 1h10min for example.

If you can, I recommend attending a Fukuoka Hawks baseball game. It is easy to get a bus to Hawks Town from the bus terminal next to JR Hakata Station. There are several restaraunts in Hawks Town, a short walk from the Hawks Dome, including a Hard Rock Cafe if you need a burger.

I got a ticket the night of the game right there at the Hawk Dome windows. I highly recommend getting a seat in right field and if people are handing out anything at the entrance then you should accept.

And the trip there would not be about the baseball as much as it is a cultural experience, as emd reported.
