Guen

I'm watching the Tournament of Roses Parade and remembering the great GTG in Pasadena last May. Do have a safe and stressfree trip home.

So, I just had my last Thai lesson and will definitely miss my instructor. She's really excellent. So, she's recorded a lot on my mini-Sony recorder. I had her read pages from my notebook from the notes I had taken and homework that I had done. So, I can play it while sitting in bumper-to-bumper L.A. traffic when I get home.
Tomorrow, I'm to have lunch with Robbietravels over at the Four Seasons. I'll wait until I get a call from her and her husband. It'll be great to be back at my old stomping grounds. This trip I've been so busy until I haven't had time to get up early and go over there for breakfast or have lunch there. So, I hope that I do hook up with Robbietravels tomorrow. Well, I've got to go and get some things done. Happy Travels!

Yes, Bob I met with Robbietravels and her husband. I posted about that under another thread...can't remember which one. She called me around 8:40AM the day that I was to fly home and so I jusmped on the skytrain and went over to meet them. We were to meet at 9:45AM, but I got there a half hour early which was fine as I love sitting in the lobby of the Four Seasons and just reading the paper and relaxing. The staff would come over and offer me coffee and see that all was fine.
Then Robbie and her husband came to the lobby...they were staying at the Four Seasons. They had just checked in after they had called me.

I thought it would be nice to go to the Erawan tearoom for something to drink. So we walked down the street...it's right above the Erawan shrine. They were just opening as it was 10AM then. So, we had something to drink and chatted....very nice...very relaxing.
They were only going to be in BKK for 2 days and Robbie wanted to have clothing made so I personally took them over to Cotton House by skytrain and public boat up the river to Tha Oriental. I dropped them off there and left them in the hands of Da who was quite surprised to see me as she knew that I was leaving that day. They had done 13 pieces of clothing for me and had delivered them to my apartment building at least a week prior to that. So, I had said goodbye to Da after my second fitting.
Robbie also wanted to go to SJ, so I suggested to call SJ from Cotton House and have them send a car to get them there and then go to SJ and when finished at SJ to have the SJ car drop them at River City since they needed to also go there. That way they would save a lot of time in transportation. Then after River City, they could just go down river back to Saphan Taksin and then take the skytrain back to Rajadamri where the Four Seasons is. So, I don't know where they are now. They're probably just getting home. When I saw them they had just gotten off of a plane from India I think it was. They were also in Bhutan which sounded fabulous. They had a great guide. So, I look forward to their complete trip report. It was a really nice morning with them. Happy Travels!

Guen
I think it was robbie/DH who said they had reservations during the holidays at Phuket at Villa Royale, in the largest villa... did they decide NOT to go there?? Just curious.
