For Guenmei in BKK

We will be in BKK for a month starting on December 21 and are staying in the Sukhumvit area. If you are still in BKK, it would be fun for us to meet you -- and other Fodorites -- for drinks or dinner and put faces with names.

If this is good, you pick the place and time. We will be tied up, however, until after New Years.

I'll be there for three weeks, but will leave to come back home on January 5th. Yes, we can have a GTG. We had a mini one last December. I'll post later. Got to go. Happy Travels!

I'd be up for a GTG in BKK late December, but my times don't mesh with mcbeanie's ...We're available roughly Dec. 16 - 20, and 22 - 24. Dec. 21's the wedding - if you see a crowd (mostly bride's Thai family) at Sukhothai Hotel that afternoon/evening, that's us!

but I would be happy to meet others on this list...

I'll keep that in mind. I'll get back to you all later. Iskohn, what area of BK are you staying in? Is it the Sukothai the whole time? Happy Travels!

Guenmei: My husband and I are staying at the Bumrungrad Hospitality Suites, Nana 3. We will be available the evenings of Dec. 21/22, but will be touring Dec. 23-26 (returing noon 12/27). That gives us the 27th also and possibly other dates, depending upon our appts. at BHI.

Just set a date and time, and we will do our best to be there. How does the 27th work for others?

Look forward to meeting other Fodorites.

sorry for the delayed response...we are at Sukhothai only 12/20 and 12/21. 12/22 - 12/25 we will be at the Marriott on the river, but I'm a great devotee of the skytrain, and the (non-tour) river ferries, so we are pretty mobile. 12/22 would probably work...

OK...folks. Sorry for the delay, but I'm extremely busy as I leave on Friday. Anyhow, why don't we say the Dec 22nd...since that seems good for you guys. It doesn't matter to me since I'm in bNagkok for three weeks and with nothing specific to do. We could meet at the Erawan Tearoom right at Chitlom skytrain ststion. It's right above the Erawan shrine. You can access the mall that it's in from the skytrain station. It's in the same mall that has the Burberry flagship store. You can't miss it. I select the tearoom since it's easy to get to, centrally located, and as soon as you get off the skytrain you're there. So no need for a taxi. I go there all of the time and it's very relaxing. So, shall we say 6:00? Happy Travels!

Also sorry for the delay...working madly to get ready to leave! 12/22, 6 pm it is! Friday, so, having followed Bob's ongoing trip report, I will try to wear something blue in honor of the Queen. Looking forward to meeting you all!

How many will we be total? I might drop by there and see if I need to reserve a (big) table although I've never noticed that as a problem in the past. I go there often and have been able to easily find a place to sit. Happy Travels!

Guenmei: There will be 2 of us -- my husband and me. I like the idea of wearing blue in honor of the Queen, so look for a 60-something couple grinning from ear to ear because they are in BKK and meeting new friends.

Thanks for all your work in making these plans.
