Flying Nanning to Shanghai - please help find best airline.
I'm looking for a round trip flight from Nanning to Shanghai for approx 7 nights departing 6/21 returning approx 6/28 (somewhat flexible within a couple of days). The flights I'm seeing are around $550. Found $427 on itasoftware, but not sure if China Southern will honor.
If you can lead me to a better price I sure would appreciate it!
Thanks!

ctrip.com lists full fare as 1,660 yuan each-way, which is the price you see on itasoftware.com. They also offer discount fares at 1,330 each way, so you save about $75. To get the really good price (about half the full fare), you should wait until you get to Nanning to book it.
There are four non-stops a day, not including connections, so your chance to getting a ticket with no advanced purchase is pretty good.

rkkwan -- Thank you for your help. That seems like a lot of money compared to the cost of the inter-Thailand flights we took (I realize it's a further distance). Is this the average cost for these flights? So, you're saying if tix are bought in Nanning they would be closer to $250/each instead of $500? Would this be on China Southern?
Thank you!
Thank you!

Yes, Chinese airfares are based on distance, and Nanning-Shanghai is a relatively long route.
The 4 flights are all on different airlines. China Southern, Shanghai Airlines, Shenzhen Airlines and China Eastern. Fares are all the same among various Chinese airlines on the same route.
And yes, I think if you buy at Nanning, you can get a roundtrip for about $207 (1,660 RMB x 2 x .5; and 1USD = 8.02RMB)
