Flights Within Vietnam

Hi..i am getting a quote from vietnamstay.com on hotels, etc in Vietnam..And i am just wondering if U.S. $62.00 per person sounds right for flights...

HCMC - Danang (one way)

Hue to Hanoi (one way)..

What airline are you using to get to Vietnam? The price for domestic flights is substantially cheaper if your international flights are on VN Airlines, but of course you have to book everything at one go through an agent who knows what they're doing. Your prices look about right for full-fare domestic.

We bought tickets in March from Vietnamstay.com to fly Saigon-Danang (one way) and that's what we paid. I searched and could not find it cheaper anywhere else.

I actually booked a ticket from Luang Prabang to Hanoi on expedia. It was not inexpensive, but it saved the hassle of finding and dealing with a travel agent in LP.
Expedia shows vietnam air flights from HK to SGN and Hanoi

Have you contacted Eddie at the AmEx office in Bangkok? [email protected]

I often use him for intra-asia tickets.

BTW, that's for HKG-SGN. Vietnam airlines also pretty cheap.

I know nothing about internal flights in Vietnam.

Hi Tracey-just arrived back from Vietnam. The costs you mention are right! We flew into HaNoi and out of HMC and also flew Vietnam Airlines within Vietnam. If you are wanting to go to Hue I would suggest flying from HaNoi to Hue- catching taxi or train to DaNang but do stay in HoiAn (about an hour away from Da Nang). You will then have to get a taxi back to DaNang to catch plane to HMC.HoAn is a much better place to spend some time than DaNang.
When we flew into HaNoi a travel agent booked all our flights, taxi pick up,city tour,Halong Bay tour, hotel in HoiAn etc for a very reasonable price-not sure where she made her money but it all worked out.

Around the old quarter there are lots of small tourist "shops". The one we used was think was 4c Dinh Liet Street(Hoan Kiem District) and was next to a laquerware shop.It had a sign which said Sinh Cafe-Open Tour. It was linked to 34 Sinh Cafe-Open Tour but is closer to Hoan Kiem Lake. The girl who made all the arrangements was Linh Nguyen.
For US$528 this is what she organised:
1. Private city tour (airconditioned taxi, driver and guide, plus lunch)-we wanted to visit the war musuems more than the pagodas.(7.45am-4.00pm)
2. 2 day, 1 night Halong Bay tour (airconditioned double bed room, breakfast, lunch, dinner, bus with guide there and back).
3. Taxi to airport (this was at 5am)
4. Two air tickets to DaNang.
5.Taxi pickup, tour of DaNang (2-3 hours)and transport to Hoi An.(about 50 mins away)
6. 3 nights at Hotel AnPhu (about a 3 star hotel in middle of Hoi An -has a pool, airconditioned OK)
7. Taxi back to DaNang
8. 2 air tickets to Ho Chi Minh City.
It is not bad is it?
If you decide to use her could you please tell her the Australians she helped in August recommended her?We took some photos of her and her brother.

albaaust: for the price you mentioned you paid for the package, you say "we"; was that the price for each person or for two or more persons? Thanks

I am currently in the process of putting together an itinerary with vietnamstay.com

What we have so far is 10 days at 4 and 5* hotels, of which one is an overnight on a junk in Halong Bay... including breakfast, transfers, 2 flights each within Vietnam, cooking classes for 2 in Hue, private car between Hue and Hoi An and a few tours...We will start in HCMC then vist Hoi An, Hue, Halong Bay & Hanoi

Cost is 1789.00 U.S. for both of us which is under $100.00 per day..There service has been great..I sit up in the evening and email them and they answer me immediately..I put together the itineray myself to allow for alot of free time...but a we are limited to 10 days only, do not want the hassel of trying to book everything when we get there..
What do u think?
