Flights from Hong Kong to Lijiang, Yunnan?
Does anyone know if there are flights from Hong Kong to Lijiang in Yunnan, western China? or do I have to fly to Kunming and then to Lijiang?
I have searched all the internet Asia travel sites in vain.

rkkwan ...
Thanks. Do you know which airline flies these routes? I really have a hhard time searching for flights with the Chinese Airlines - maybe I don't know which travel websites I should be using. You certainly can't use travelocity, expedia, whichbudget etc. etc.

HKG-KMG:
KA 760 12:00p
MU 734 12:30p
CZ 342 1:30p
N8 141 10:15a (N8 is the new HKG-based regional carrier CR Airways. I think they use CRJ-200)
KA also has an extra flight 762 later on Thurs and Sunday.
KMG-LJG: many fligths on MU, CZ, CA as well as FM (Shanghai Airlines) and 3U (Sichuan Airlines)
SZX-LJG:
ZH 9981 10:50a (ZH = Shenzhen Airlines)
CZ 3833 8:05p
This should be current.

Thanks! you've been most helpful!
rkkwan ... rather than contacting the individual airline, is there a booking site that you would recommend? I checked Southern Airlines - the flight from HK to Lijiang costs about Can$900, which is not cheap.
BTW, what is KA? I found CA for Air China, but couldn't find KA.

KA is the HK-based Dragonair, subsidiary of Cathay Pacific.
For flights originating in HKG, try a HK-based agent like www.tiglion.com. [I have not used them myself.] For flights originating in China, www.ctrip.com.
Unless you're going during holiday period, you can also just wait until you're in Hong Kong to get the tickets. That'd be the cheapest.

Thanks rkkwan.
I always try to book trips myself - planning to go from Vancouver to Shanghai using Silk Holidays (based in Vancouver) for 10 days, then to Hong Kong where my mom lives. That part is easy.
It's just that once in Hong Kong, I want to go to Lijiang for a few days. Looking at the airline tickets it will be at least HK$2500. On the other hand, I checked Wing On travel which has a 7 day HK-Lijiang, air and hotel inclusive, for about the same price. The only problem is that I don't have that much time and so would only like to go to Lijiang for 2-3 days, not 7 days.
What did you mean by "you can also just wait until you're in Hong Kong to get the tickets"? can I not book tickets (while I'm still in Canada) using a Hong Kong travel agency via telephone or email? If they have to release tickets I can always ask my family in Hong Kong to pick them up.
Wing On Travel appears to be cheaper than Tiglion, and Farrington appears to be more expensive - just my first impression.
Yes, Tiglion
