First time India question

Thanks so much all for the help. The Indian Moments tour included a night in a tent in Jaisalmer, which brought up the cost.
If we decide to cut Shimla, what would you chose between:
Ranthambhore (the park just reopened to tourists)
Jaisalmer
Jaipur

I know they are all VERY different destinations. We've done both desert and animal safaris in Africa, which were amazing, but in no rush to do similiar trips again, but I'm also scared Jaipur in addition to the other places might get a bit redundant. I talked to my husband about finishing the trip in Goa or at a beach, but he would prefer not to.

Also any other suggestions? We definitely are interested in the north and northeast regions of India, but we will trying to escape a relatively cold Hong Kong at this time (Mid February) and our next two trips are cold weather vacations, so I would like to give this area the time it deserves at another time.

Well, you could look at going to the Ellora and Ajanta caves, but then it would make sense to fly home from Mumbai instead of Delhi.
