Crowne Plaza hotel can accommodate 2 adults & 2 children under 19 years. Review of this hotel are very poor, needs refurbishment, bathroom tatty, musty smell. etc etc. Any ideas on other quality hotels that can accommodate this no of people or am I stuck with having to get two rooms which gets pretty expensive

The Royal Palace Hotel on Rajamadoern (spelling differs) Road has quad rooms (2 double beds) with private bath for about $35-$40. Also has a pool and a decent buffet breakfast in the morning. It is a little worn, but comfortable (rooms are like a Holiday Inn in the US), but the best attribute is its location. Just a five or ten minute walk from the Royal Palace, national museum, many other attractions.

Most hotels in Bangkok have rooms with two double beds. Many have suites that cost less than two rooms. I'd check www.asia-hotels.com for hotels in the price range you are looking for.

I stayed at the Crowne Plaza last november and it was fine. Sure it could do with some re-modeling, but it was clean and the location is good (within walking distance of the skytrain). A good alternative to a hotel for a family, is a serviced appartment. For instance a two bedroom at Centre Point Silom will cost around 4500 baht (110us). It has a great location close to the river and the river express boats and within walking distance of the skytrain. This would give you much more room than a hotel at about the same cost of a 4 star hotel.

I also recommend Centre Point Silom. We have stayed there twice and think it is one of the best hotel values we've had anywhere in the world. The rooms are very nice, spacious, full kitchen with washer/dryer, pool, workout room, great location, friendly and helpful staff, internet access -- whew -- what more could you want? Oh yeah, great location 5 min walk from the river taxis and from the skytrain. Department store next door with supermarket in basement.<BR><BR>And you don't need a 2 bedroom. A 1 BR has a sofabed in the living room and they can also bring in a cot. We paid about US$65 in late 2001 for a 1BR. You should also expect to pay small extra daily charges for use of the sofabed, for the cot if you need one, and for the 2 extra breakfasts. (In other words, the US$65 was for 2-person occupancy and included 2 breakfasts.)

look at the marriott resort and spa in bangkok---i can't think of a better place for a family stay...i will be there in november for my 5th stay...it is simply fabulous...great for kids and out of the center of things

Hi,<BR>We also stayed at the crowne plaza in april this year,found it an excellant hotel,well placed for the sky train,and a short walk to the pat pong night market.The buffet breakfast is the best we,ve ever had.
