Well you could put in your dates here and see if it comes up as Instant Confirmation or not, worth a try:

Thanks for that JamesA.

Ended up booking a different hotel through Lastminutetravel.com. Got a confirmation right away.

Still trying to sort out where to stay on the return.

BTW - found www.hotelscombined.com mentioned on another thread here on the Asia forum. Great site.

Asia room is fine.I used them many times. But please do not book The hotel Alternatives in Singapore.
I just had the worst nightmare staying in their rooms in my 35 years traveling experience.

nizora -

Not sure what you mean. Are you suggesting that no one book the alternatives that Asiarooms.com provides when your requested hotel is not available?

Now that the Peninsula's prices have gone (far) up, what does anyone think about booking that hotel through Orbitz? They currently have a 20% off sale....but in the past I booked directly with the hotel. But at the new prices....

Jim -

I've never booked through Orbitz, so can't help there.

I've booked Singapore hotels through www.wotif.com, wwwlastminutetravel.com and www.hotelclub.com - all since January when I started this thread.

I was pleased with all three companies and wouldn't hesitate to use any of them again (just be sure to read the fine print for cancellation policies).

How do these rates look compared to Orbitz? (Peninsula Excelsior in Singapore) -

Got lots of hits on www.hotelscombined.com too, but couldn't post the link for some reason.
