Hello all,

I have searched previous forums, but some of the driver recommendations I came across are a few years old or I couldn't find the contact info. We are looking for a driver or perhaps a guide to hire for the day to tour the island. We would like to see a few of the area temples, the northern part of the island, and Tanah Lot. We are also open to suggestions that the guide might have to offer. Can you suggest someone you have had experience with?

Ther are zillions of good drivers/guides in Ubud. If you feel you must have someone lined up in advance, the favorite driver/guide of many here is Putu. Bob (Rhkkmk) and Craig have both given his contact info in various threads. Hopefully, one of them will see your question and give his current contact info.

One tip. If you intend touring the north of Bali while you are staying in Ubud, then choose your accommodation in the nort of Ubud. My reasoning is that the main roads in Ubud get clogged with day tripper traffic, and you really want to avoid getting stuck in it.

We second Craig's recommendation . Have used him on many of our trips to Bali. Very flexible in accommodating your sight seeing wants and needs.

Just booked Putu for 3 days in early July. He is very quick to respond and chat about touring options. Glad I did it based on forum recommendations.

Just returned from our 6th visit to Bali. We have used Merta all 6 times. First of all whoever you get make sure he is a Certified Guide, otherwise you will get a driver who drops you off and waites for use.
