Direct Rooms.com

Has anyone used DirectRooms.com and if so could you please comment on their service ?

Or how about PrecisionReservations.com ?

We have heard good things about AsiaHotels.com but they haven't replied to any of our email inquiries.

We would like to use DirectRooms.com if they are reputable.

i have had trouble communicating with asia hotel booking sites....you can easily make reservations, but asking questions often bring no answers...

I used precision reservations once - got me a booking at Tamarind Village in Chiang Mai at fairly short notice - was happy with them.

I used directrooms.com for a reservation, but I cancelled due to change in plans. However, all of the forms, confirmations, etc. were all very professional and I had no problem receiving cancellation voucher with no penalty.

Thanks for the replies so far. We're concerned about pre payment to the agencies themselves not so much to the hotels.

credit card is simply for guarantee purposes. they do not charge anything until you present your voucher at the hotel.

virgo, some rates and some sites do require full prepayment of your hotel stay. I've done that on a number of occasions with asiahotels.com without a problem.

By the way, I've always gotten a prompt reply from asiahotels by filling out the reservation request form. I'm not sure what kind of question you are emailing them or how, but that might be the problem.

I've tried a couple of the AsiaHotels.com email addresses with an inquiry I have about room types and they simply do not reply. I would like to know more about Directrooms.com if anyone has used them. Prepaying a booking agency seems a little risky to me without knowing about their reputation.

Used them for Hoi An Riverside Resort, Saigon Morin in Hue & Majestic Hotel in Saigon-not one problem with their service or security and their rates were very good for all 3 properties. Good luck.

There is also AsiaHotels.net. Does anyone have any information on them???
I haven't used DirectRooms.com yet but they have great maps of hotel locations--something most of the other sites do not show.
