day trip cost??
hi guys -
our flight to thailand is in a few hours!!!
we have booked cherry aviram for a day trip (12 hrs or so) to flower market and Kanchanaburi... her price - 6900 Baht.
after speaking to friends who have been there, we seam to feel that the price is quite high... can anyone advise?
is it normal to pay $150 (aprox.) for a day trip???
what are the going rates?
pls post replies asap!!
thanx!
Julia.

But wait, you are going all the way to Kanchanaburi! This will make it at least a 12 hour day, and gas has gotten very expensive. Are you going to the Flower market in Bangkok before or after the trip to Kanchanaburi? This would make the day even longer. This day trip is not comperabale to a trip to the Floating market.

oooh.. my mistake! not flower market - FLOATING market, and kanchanaburi and tiger conservatory etc...
is 6900 not too high a price? are we to try to "bargain" the price down with cherry or find another guide?

I have been looking for a guide as well for a day trip to the tiger temple. I am traveling alone, so I have been told that the cost is a bit higher for a single traveler, but my quotes have ranged from 3500-4000 baht for the day, plus 2-3 baht per km for gas (comes out to be around 1300 baht additional)

as i think it was I who suggested cherry to you earlier, may i ask you to make a complete comparison of costs before you jump....
cherry often includes lunch and admissions in her prices, not sure if this is the case with your trip, and also all other incidental costs of the day....and yes i think you will find the trip lasts 10-12 hours to go all that way...the admission to the tiger temple is quite steep i believe???
its important for you to know just what is included in the price of your intended trip...
with most drivers its a net net situation and often you travel via small sedan or taxi....check things out...

hey guys!! greetings from Bangkok!
I must say, we stuck with Cherry (magical tours) and had the most amazing day....!!! yes, perhaps teh price was high, but we felt it was well worth the money spent.
Cherry is absolutely a sweetheart! she picked us up at 8 am at the Hilton, and we headed to floating market... snake show... Kanchanaburi river kwai and then tiger conservatory.
her price was all inclusive of lunch, all entrance fees, cold ice packed drinks and wet towels to clean up with.
i can go on and on, but am limited at time at internet cafe...
anyway - thank you cherry!
BTW - cherry has also given us so much invaluable information in general, and has offered her unlimited assistance while we are here. so much recomended, i cannot convey enough.
