Dawn Rooney's Angkor Book
I've had no luck obtaining a copy of DR's 4th Edition Book on Angkor. Neither Amazon nor Barnes and Noble could get one for me. Any ideas? We leave on 12/23/05 and I'd like to read it beforehand. Thanks.

Gpanda I have not been able to get this book either. I did get a copy of Michael Feemans book which I am enjoying. Good luck with the library that would be an easy option. If you do locate one would be interested to know where! There is a 5th edition coming out but it is now not until mid Jan a little late for you but may scrape it in for me.

I did a search on Google (James take note) entering the words "Dawn Rooney Angkor 4th edition" - although most of what came up was garbage, on the fourth or fifth page was a link to another search site which brought me to ecampus.com which can provide you with a brand new copy for $24.78, including shipping.

Andy - if you are in doubt about whether the book is actually in stock, you could call ecampus's toll-free customer service number and find out. I wouldn't want to miss out on Bob treating me to a meal, after all.

Actually talking with a person would deprive me of the potential disappointment and accompanying resentment that pretty much makes up my life. This way I can get my medium hopes elevated to near certainty and then have them dashed. I draw your attention to my experience with Amazon. Plus, what's the actual chance Bob would pay for anyone else. At the Boston GTG dinner (missed by you), Bob tried to avoid paying for both him and Karen. A twofer. If you can get a free luch out of him, I would have the food tasted.

I tried to order the book from ecampus.com during the summer. After more than a month without receiving it, and emailing them several times, I finally cancelled the order. They told me they were trying to locate a copy. I finally found one online at one of the second hand sellers, I can't remember if it was Alibris or thru Amazon. It came within a week after I ordered it. So, don't count on ecampus!

Looks like I'm going to miss out on that free lunch/dinner...I wouldn't want to be banned from future gtg's on account of your misfortune. Don't shoot the messenger as they say.
You should call them, Andy in spite of your reservations on doing so.

Just spoke with ecampus, who said they would be sending me an E-mail cancelling my order. They were singularly unresponsive to my inquiry why they listed books that they could not sell. Bob is behind this. Craig, you're not banned from the GTG's because you provided the phone number. However, the question of probation has arisen.
