Qatar Airways are planning daily flights from Washington DC ( IAD ) from sometime Summer to Doha ( Qatar ), from there they have flights to India, Bangkok, Bali, Ho Chi Minh City ( Saigon )and other SE Asia and Far East destinations.
I know some of you are in the DC area so that new daily flight to Doha could be good for those heading to India/South East Asia who want one airline all the way thru plus an international departure from the DC area. Good airline(!), the flight will be daily, they are also starting 4 x weekly Newark (EWR ) from end of June to Doha with a stop in Geneva on the way.

Ex Newark starts end June, so guess IAD will be later than that, shouldn't be too long Bob before Emirates decides to head to Logan, already added ORD and Houston.
I don't know what Emirates / Qatar / Etihad are like your side but around Asia and Africa the 'heavily' discount Business Class, their much lower costs allow them to, all have superb service any class.

Currently, Etihad only serve Toronto and New York in N. America, and Emirates only New York. Qatar doesn't fly to the Americas.
But as all of these airlines continue to receive new ultra-longhaul aircrafts like the 777-200LRs, they'll have a larger presence.
Emirates will start Dubai-Houston late this year.

Qatar Airways have confirmed 4 flights a week between New York and Doha ( stop en route in Geneva ) from June 26, non-stop daily flights Washington IAD to Doha from July 19.
They have onward connections to India, SEA Asia including Bangkok, KL, Singapore and Ho Chi Minh City( Saigon ), Bali etc.

If you are lucky enough to be in First or Business they have a separate 'Premium Terminal' at Doha Airport and this is also for those in transit.
I mention these because for those on the East Coast such flights eliminate having to transit in Europe to get to if you are heading eastbound to this area.
