Safe flight to Bali.

Nicky, we enjoyed the Blue Mountains and had dinner one night in the beautiful lounge at Lilianfels. Our B&B, Windradyne was very comfortable and fabulously situated.

We had a wonderful first full day with the Kimballs and the Gomes' (and our driver, Putu) - lots of laughs, productive shopping for the ladies, good food and good times...

Well I've been quite lazy and have enjoyed letting Bob post about our activities on his thread. Our 5-night stay at Alam Shanti was fabulous, and at $135/nt for our HUGE, well-appointed room, an amazing bargain. So sad to leave.

We had a relaxing 1-hour couples massage this morning and now await our flight to Taipei (and onward) in the temporary, but adequate lounge at the airport.

Highlights of our Bali stay included our dinners out every night with the Kimball's and the Gomes' - especially the Italian restaurant Dolce Arancia, our 2 days shopping and sightseeing with Putu, our early morning rice fields walk and lastly, white-water rafting with Karen, where we have never heard her laugh so much. It all went by just way too fast...

Back on US soil (SEA). EVA was okay - roomy biz class cabin, but seats were angled lie flat...

Our transfer through Customs here at SEA was the fastest I've ever experienced...

Do you have global entry, Craig? I highly recommend it.

So glad you made it back to US. Where to next?

Carol, we head to Panama in February.

We do not have Global Entry and I really don't see a need for it. Customs has been exceptionally quick on our last two trips. We used the kiosks that match your passport photo to a photo you take yourself (at the kiosk). You are then issued a receipt which you hand over to the officials as you are exiting the Customs area after you retrieve your bags. We didn't even need to turn in a customs form.

That's great that your airport has the new kiosks. I know OHare has them, and yes it speeds things along. Newark also has them When my friend and I returned from Italy I used my global entry and she used the kiosk. We both came out at about the same time!!

Are you cruising through the canal?

Our points of entry were Seattle and Miami...

Not a cruise - visiting Panama City and Boquete. May kayak in the canal though. All of the cruises leave and go elsewhere for 10-15 days.

Glad to hear you had a fun/safe trip.

>>EVA was okay <<

Was it a 747?

TPE - SEA was a 747 with business class in the nose of the aircraft. I neglected to mention that I enjoyed the single malt scotches that were available in the lounge and on the flights. Food was good as well. Flight attendants were almost too attentive at times. I slept some on each of the EVA flights.

That's a shame, Craig. EVA's new (lie-flat) biz class (on the 777) is astonishing.

Guessing you had these seats:

instead of these:
