Hi Carol,

Im in CM now and just finished my second day of cooking class at a place called Master Thai Chef Cooking School. The fellow who runs it, Permpoon, is the brother of the guy who owns Thai Cookery School (the more famous one). Perm's place is cheaper (700bt) and I had a great time and learned to cook some terrific stuff -- all the basics. The class was small (3 people one day, 8 the next) and the personal attention was great. I cant speak for the other places, but I had a good experience at this one. He is located on Rathmokken Road (horrible spelling, sorry) near Moon Muang. If you're interested I can get you his exact address with better spelling.

Matt

Hi Carol,

I will be heading to Chiang Mai in two weeks and have enrolled in the Thai Cookery School for a full day course. I have heard excellent things about the school. You can check it out on their web site and sign-up online.
http://www.thaicookeryschool.com
Arlene

Carol,

To sign up you can just walk on in when you get there -- day of, day before, whenever. Classes run in length from one to three days (I did two). Frankly, unless you really want to get into the more complicated stuff, I cant see doing much more than that. I found two to three days to be a strong introduction to the techniques and ingredients. As for the spelling of the road, here's my next shot: Ratchmangka Rd. near the corner of Moon Muang. Frankly, Ive seen it spelled about 4 different ways since Ive been here and none of the maps seem to spell it the same way the street signs do. But I took this spelling from a map. Hope this helps, let me know if I can be of more assistance.

Matt

Why would "Carol" post under(post no. 3) the name "Matt" as well as his email address? Perhaps Matt forgot to wipe out his name when he replied to himself?
