Chiang Mai cooking classes
Since I'll be in Chiang Mai almost two weeks next trip I'd love to finally do one of these. I know there have been discussions in the past, but I'd love to hear from people about classes they've liked and why.
Thanks

Hi, I guess it would be about 3 years ago now (how time fly's), but my husband and I took cooking classes at the Chiang Mai Cookery School...We absolutely loved it..They picked you up at your hotel, and you had the choice of taking it either at the restaurant or at their home...We went to their home..It was professionally set up. everyone with their own cooking station, with beautiful views of the rice fields..In a small air conditioned room, you were shown how to make the dishes...right from how to slice (garlic,etc)...You then went to your cooking station, cut up everything, cooked it and then ate it!! The instructors were excellent and went out of their way to help. We took a full day class but many were taking several more..If I ever go back to Chiang Mai, I would definately take another one..At the end of the class, you were given a cook book and they had small cooking gadgets and aprons to purchase..I bought a coconut ladel and the Apron, which I proudly display in my kitchen..I often cook some of the dishes that we learned at home...Anyhow, I could go on for ever but i would recommend the Chiang Mai Cookery School!!

hi gloria...
we did a private class with yui at
alot of thai...she picked us up at our
hotel...and the class is at her house.
she worked for chiang mai cookery school before opening her own school.
it was great and the classes were affordable and some of the best thai food we ate the entire trip ( we could make it to our own tastes)...
highly recommend her and she has a website...alot of thai.com

Hi glorialf. My daughter and I took a class with Yui also this past July. It was one of the highlights of our trip. Yui was really great! If you're interested in reading about our experience, here's the link:
