Climb up Mt Batur or Mt Agung in Bali?
hi all.
We will be staying in Sanur in July, my first time came to Bali. want to climb up either Mt Agung or Mt Batur to see the sunrise. does anyone have any information on tours etc for these two mountains and what the weather in July is good for mountain climbing?
if anyone knows what the company can provide a package for mountain climbing?
Many thanks.

This is a very good site about mountaineering in Indonesia. Go to the Bali section for detailed information about Batur and Agung.

I haven't done the climbs myself so I can't give you personal information, but generally speaking Agung is much more arduous than Batur. Agung is 3000M; Batur is 460M. The choice really depends on your level of climbing experience and how much challenge you're looking for. If you choose Agung it's better to stay near the base.
Travel agents like Bali Discovery will arrange trips for you. You could also ask your resort in Sanur to set something up. This should be obvious, but make sure your guide has made the climb before.
July should be dry which is good for climbing and good for sunrise viewing.
