China ; Warrior Tours Question

We are planning a tour through China with Warrior Tours based in China. I know the NYTimes says they are reputable, but I was wondering if anyone has used them and what their experience has been. Right now we are not thinking of doing this by ourselves, but the tour company is supposed to provide private tours in each of 5 cities from Hong Kong to Beijing. It is supposed to be a luxury tour, and we would be staying in mostly 5 star hotels. Any information would be most appreciated.
Thanks everyone.

do it yourselves..hire guides in each city if you wish...stay at the level of hotel you are comfortable with...back in '84 we could only be allowed in with a tour group...but we found it to be limiting and occasionaly suffocating.

Now we're planning a re-vist in the spring just as I stated above.

Enjoy...I can't wait to see the enormous differences ...

My boss used Warrior Tours (aka Travel China Guide) for their 8-days Yangtze River/Xian/Beijing tours. It was a private luxury tour for 2 people and they enjoyed the tour very much. They were met by local guides, who speak good English, as they arrived at a new city. The hotel accommodations provided were all five star.

I have used Warrior Tours and have no complaints. I find that with guides in China it is potluck, some are good some are not so good and some have attitude! I would recommend that you request for guides who are good and speak English well.

Guilin is reputed as the most beautiful scenery city of China. Its peaks rise as suddenly from the Earth as trees in the forest, in various shapes resemble buns, camels, fish, saw-teeth, horses, etc. it is the city you must visit it or you will miss the most beautiful landscape out. the river is like green silk ribbon while the hills seem hairpins of jade. The landscape in Guilin is characterized by its “green hills, clear waters, pretty rocks and fantastic caves’’.
