PJG - Just let your agent deal with the form. They'll know what to fill in. Beijing, Shanghai, whatever.

Reason i didnt leave my passport there was because we are having wildcat postal strikes here in the Uk. I have a few visas in my passport that if lost would be very difficult to replace.

barnetda - makes sense! I guess I've read too many posts on the Europe board from people who get upset about letting hotels have their passports for a few hours.

Well, it just depends on which embassy/consulate you're going. We have one here in Houston, and usually it only takes a few minutes to drop the application and passport off, and a few minutes to pick it up.
