China Trip in Winter Best Destination

Hi

We are couple , planning to travel for vacation to China (maybe Hong Kong) for 13 days at the end of December.

We would like to see cities, local markets, history, and some attraction like walking on Glass Bridge. (Maybe zhangjiajie)

Our thought was to Visit: Beijing, Shanghai, maybe Suzhou and South China (don't know where).

We can go by train or flight, we don't mind cold weather.
No Budget limit till now.
What is the best Place for new year evening , and fireworks , Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong ?

I Appreciate if you can help me to build basic itinerary and how much time to spend in each city.

Thanks in Advance

In China the new year is not at the end of December but rather in February. The only place that might have fireworks would be HK.
13 days is short and you can't visit many places especially considering that days are shorter and that it will be cold, meaning that you see less each day.

Thanks for the response.
We will start our trip from Hong Kong and spend the new year at Hong Kong, and we will start our trip to China at 01 Jun 19, from South China to Beijing we have 11 days to spend.
We can travel by airplane or train and the cold is not an issue for us.
We want to see as much as more from China in these days.
I appreciate if some one can help us build our itinerary for the 11 days in China.

Thanks

I assume you mean January, not June?

The best way to build an itinerary is for you to consult guidebooks for the area of interest and pick out the places YOU want to see. Then we can help with logistics.

As CCT has already told you, if you want to experience new year's celebrations in China you need to be there for Chinese (or Lunar) New Year, which is February 5th in 2019.

Fireworks now mostly forbidden, esp in big cities but might be more common in smaller towns.
You will be well in front of CYN (chinese new year) so that won't be a problem re train tix. In all of china it will cold, dark and crowded. Govt control cameras on every corner so no mass meetings of friends in public view, or risk trouble. Seems best to avoid Xinjiang and Tibet these days as same cameras there in every house.

The no.1 place to visit in China is Beijing. But this is in the north and it will be quite cold. Assume 4-5 days there. For other places then it depends on your interest. Shanghai and Xi'An and both popular and easy to travel to from Beijing. Otherwise stay in the south for a days in a place like Guilin/Yangshuo although it is not as interesting in the winter.

China overflows with beautiful places to visit. Hong Kong and Shanghai is absolutely the best and most popular shopping paradise in China. Flower Market Road, Wangfujing Street, Hollywood Road, Panjiayuan Antique Market Yuyuan Old Street are famous local markets in China.
