check luggage through?

HI
Leaving from Miami changing in LA -- trip was booked through China Southern with Delta as code-share for the US part. My question -- is it better to check my luggage through to Siem Reap (assuming I can) or is it better to pick it up in LA and bring it to China Southern myself?

I always check it through. Why would you want to go through TSA twice? Coming back, though, you'll have to pick it up after immigration to clear customs, but you'll recheck it right there.

Transferring from DL to CZ means switching terminals and going through security regardless. But why would one go through the trouble of hauling lugaage across, AND wait in potentially very long line at CZ? When there is no proof it would decrease the chance of losing the bags?

I agree. If you can't go carry on, make it as easy as you can.
