Cheap airfares from Taipei to BKK

Hi - I am looking for cheap, safe air travel (R/T) from Taipei to Bangkok around between end-July and mid-August. Any tips regarding travel agents, recommended airlines, websites etc. would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Eva Air is 'excellent', you also have Thai Airways, China Airlines and KLM all offering frequent flights ( KLM though is just once per day ), it is a highly competative route and you should have no problem getting a cheap flight.

Thanks for the vote of confidence for Eva. I checked their website and the fares are much lower than on the US travel websites. My question is: can I buy a ticket on Eva website from the US or do I have to pay in the local currency? Thanks!

You should be able to buy it on the website. While I haven't purchased EVA air tickets on their website, I did purchase intra-Asia Singapore Air tickets on their website (charged in Singapore dollars to my credit card) and saved 100s of dollars.

As kathie said you should be able to, just check the conditions or otherwise just book and see what happens, I guess they might charge you local currency, as said, it is a very very competative route and regional air fares are very cheap, e.g the average rate Bangkok to Hong Kong Return ( just under a 3 hour flight ) is between $ 150 and $ 170 return, and that is with top carriers, even cheaper with some others.
