I thought taking the metro /subway / whatever-one-calls-it one of the best things I did while in Beijing -- you'll be riding with people who are going about their lives, which I always find fascinating! I found it very easy to use.

That’s good to hear. Knowing how locals live is good to know. I remember a bus driver in Hong Kong tell us many had to live in multi generation households to pool money to afford housing.
About 6 years later I read that the biggest gap in mean income and mean house prices was HK.

Thank you. We are ready as can be and leave in about two weeks.
I will I’ll be posting as I can though as we will be very busy in China it may have to wait until we head to KL for about a week b4 coming home.
