MBK (not MKK) is a mall, but with the feel of a market, with small vendor stalls where you can bargain for good prices (you cannot bargain on the price at the established mall stores). It is located at the National Stadium skytrain station.

certain floors at MBK are more interesting than others...the ones that hold mostly cell phone vendors are simply a waste of time, but once in a while you come upon a good shop hidden around the sides of cell central...
we have found places like platinum fashion mall to be far superior to MBK.

Well, I like BOTH MBK and Chatuchak. I used to think Chatu. was too hot, too crowded, too much to deal with. But then, I started looking at the stuff more closely there, and decided it is very much worth my time and effort. I go there everytime I'm in BKK... and often more than once!
The back part of MBK (I call it the catacombs) of floors 2, 3, and 6 are the most interesting for me. It's easy to lose your sense of direction back in those crowded aisles... like Mango says, it's like Chatuchak, only with AC. FUN!

Haha, Carol. I too like getting lost in those areas you mention. There's another cool place over in Siam Square that is more akin to catacombs. It is pretty cool and no "farangs" to be found here!!
