Thank you all for those wishes. It really means a lot. Actually I am very touched by this thread, and a little blown away.
Am truly looking forward to seeing you all in Bangkok, and Kathy I will try to ride that balloon with you and Cheryl on the 17th, because then I know that I will have some good pictures even if they are not my own. Just have to figure out a schedule and how to spread those singles around.
Am getting very excited. Singapore has always had a certain fascination for me. Have collected a slew of things to do and see as well as being invited to a friend's house for dinner Saturday night. I read about the Gibbons experience in Laos with no monkeys in sight. Hope to see them in Singapore as well as eating Chili Crab, all at different times of course.
Will let you all know how the Singapore Airline flight goes.
NYC-Frankfurt-Singapore all in economy.......
Robert if you are reading this can you get me an upgrade?
Laos, such suspense in not having an itinerary to speak of.
Then Bangkok and Chiang Mai before Myanmar, where I still don't know when I am doing what. Except for Shwedagon sunrise and stay after sundown on the same day.
Dogster you were such a great travel companion last year am glad you are with me on this one too. How about joining us all in Bangkok, or are you persona non grata there too?

I'm on the edge of going somewhere, NY. But I don't know when or where. At the moment I'm leaning towards Bangladesh, Orissa and Chattisgargh but probably not till January. I'm waiting for a sign.
I'll live vicariously in the meantime - through you.

An upgrade? Now you ask me? Had you only asked me a few days earlier they were giving out upgrades on SIA like Letterman was making apologies, fast and furious. Now you will just have to plead for an upgrade like the rest of us.
You must head straight for the chili crab in SIN. Outstanding. And, while at that GTG in BKK, if anyone starts ordering Italian food - tell Panda to stop. Have a great time.
PS
Sometime after lunch is served on the FRA-SIN leg of the flight they will come around with ice cream pops as a snack. Grab two.

Hi Bob,
I believe that you must be barefoot in all the temples. Am bringing a lot of wet wipes.
Karen, yes I will be posting as I go. Have you got a good title? Am also posting to my blog. [email protected] it is a very basic and rudimentary blog. Need to take lessons from Kristina.

Nywoman-
Blog lesson #1-make sure you give people the right address so they can find it!
http://www.nywoman.blogspot.com/
is the correct address.
Lesson #2- Add some photos to break up the text!

Looking forward to hearing about your trip. Do be careful with bare feet in the temples. Remember, I learned the hard way (stepped on glass) in Vietnam.
Have a great trip!
