Bkk/Samui Weather early July
I will be leaving for Thailand on June 29th and will be there until July 15th with my wife. First 3 days in Bangkok, followed by 4 days in Siem Reap and finally 5 days on Koh Samui. What kind of weather can we expect? I see in the forecasts that rain is expected every day. Will there be ANY chance of a sunny day? Will it be a complete wash out? I'm getting nervous. Thanks!

I've been to Thailand during almost each of the twelve months of the year. Yes, there can be rain, but a complete washout? Never!
Showers don't last all day. You may get some real gully washers where the streets fill up with water, but it all goes away pretty quickly. I wouldn't get overly concerned.
I was on Samui in early May and we had rain nearly every day (but it was brief) but the humidity and heat were really high. We still had a good time though. We were told that weather patterns this year have been quite unusual, for Samui.

July is the good time of the year on the east coast islands where you will be, see weatherbase.com for info, look at Surat Thani which is the closest latitude to Koh Samui. It is a bad time for the west coast like Phuket. That being said it is of course tropical and you may get a thunderstorm in the late afternoon as heat builds up, but you will not get days of solid rain like you can get in the winter months. The summer is high season and the best weather, I am going myself in early August. Bangkok may be a little bit rainier, but no issue IMO and you are not going for the beaches and water activity any.

Live from Samui!
It rained yesterday (Thursday) before I got here, as it did in Bangkok (left my office earlier than planned to avoid traffic). Today was glorious. It got blustery at times, which usually means it's going to rain, but it never did. The forecast for the rest of the weekend is for clear weather.
Two dives tomorrow and I'm certified.
