BKK Floating Mkt ++++

We will be in BKK in early Nov. We have been several times before but have never been out to the floating mkt. I know there are a lot of different opinions about this but we always seem to say that one day we should go to see for ourselves. So this time we have decided to do it. I have booked Tong for the day so that we can get out there and do something else also. So what else should we do??? Any suggestions are most welcome. I have been to River Kwai and my hubby doesn't seem to have much interest there. We will be in Siem Reap for over a week prior to this. Tong has thrown out some quick suggestions in her first email too us which are
- Nakorn Pathom ; to see some elephant shows and cultural show.
- Kanchanaburi : to visit the Bridge over the River Kwae, elephant village, monkey school, tiger temple or erawan waterfall.. etc.
- Samutsongkram ; to see some local temples...go to the area that the river and the sea meet together. Tour on the boat to visit ark shell, oyster farms, see some rare fish, birds and feed wild monkeys while you're on the boat..grow mangrove trees..have local sea food lunch on the shore.

Would love to have any feedback from any of you out there!

Thanks in advance.

J---tong is taking us to the seashore area at the end of november as part of a day in bkk and then outside bkk...we look forward to it...

ratt took us to a really interesting pottery manufacturing place very close to the FM...it was right on the main road just further away from bkk from the FM as i remember....it was very interesting to see huge pots being fashioned and getting ready for the "kiln", which in itself was amazing...they also paint the very decorative Bench. (sp) ware there that craig wrote about recently...i do not think it is the same factory that he went to however...

btw....if you are in bkk on nov 6 we will be having a mini GTG at the marriott riverside at 4:30PM....please join us...

Bo we unfortunately leave BKK on the 4th so will not be able to attend the GTG. Maybe next time! I admit we are leaning toward to the seashore area. Sounds a little different.

I would suggest the big chedi temple in Nakorn Pathom and the old royal palace nearby. The palace is now part of the national arts university and is used as a gallery, set in beautiful ground.
