BKK airport connection
Hello All,
On February 25, we have the following itinerary on Bangkok Airways:
Arrive at Bangkok (BKK Suvar.) from Phuket at 11:45 am. Then we fly out from BKK to Luang Prabang at 1:00 pm.
This gives us an hour and 15 minutes to change planes, check in, etc.
Will Bangkok Air transfer checked luggage straight through?
It looks like we will have to go from Concourse A to Concourse D. Is this correct and is this a problem?
I've contacted the airline regarding this and have not heard back yet. Any and all comments and tips welcome. Thank you very much!

Thanks, I did a little more digging in the archives and sounds like Gpanda had a similar situation last year that worked out fine. He got the bording passes early and checked the baggage through. I'll have to add "No doddling"
!
It's our first trip to Asia. We leave Feb 12 for 7 days in Bangkok, 7 days in Phuket, 7 days in LP. This site has been a tremendous help!

Bangkok Airways usually uses gate C1A for their departures, since most of their planes are too small for the skybridges and you have to take a bus. Not sure if you go through immigration in Phuket in Bangkok, but either way I think you're safe.
Just remember that Bangkok Airways is really strict about the gate closing 15 minutes before takeoff. Make sure you are at the gate and on the bus within their deadline.

Bangkok Airways is a full-service airline as is Thai so your baggage should transfer.
BTW, Bangkok Airways does fly to Yangoon - if you haven't alread booked the Thai flight, you might want to lookminto using Bangkom Air and buying the Discover Air Pass.
