Laurie, I think Bed's worth a try. We enjoyed our meal there and the entertainment. But if I only had two nights in Bangkok, it wouldn't make my list.

I'm sure China House is on your list - think of me over your Peking Duck!

If you have plenty of eating opportunities like Laurie and others, then Bed is certainly worth a try. If you are only there for two nights, then you would want to eat some place that serves Thai. Based on my most recent experience Tongue Thai would fit the bill but I have not been to Mahanaga or Bahn Kahita which would have better atmosphere. China House is another excellent option for those in Bangkok for extended periods as is Biscotti.

Kishore, we're at the Amanjiwo. I had to try it. I hope that we don't get too spoiled by it! I emailed them asking how much it would cost to have them pick us up at the Dusun in Yogia, expecting to pay for the transfer since we booked thorough a consolidator, but they wrote back saying round trip transfers would be complimentary! I guess at $700 per night, it's the least they can do but it was still a nice surprise. And yes, of course I will have a trip report, complete with pics of the Amanjiwo.

Kathie, Of course China House and the Peking Duck is on the list--we've never missed it. We ate there on our first trip to BKK in 1995 and have gone back on every subsequent trip. I'll be thinking of you and Gloria too as we bite into that mouth watering duck! CAN'T WAIT!!!

I have lots of places on our eating list for this trip. Tongue Thai and Harmonique are on the list as is Suan Thip, though I think we'll go there for lunch. I also want to go back to the Seafood Market, another place we visited the first trip and each subsequent trip.

Bob, I don't know if Eric is excited about Bed now but I hope the experience will be a good one. From all the reviews, I don't see how it can be anything but good.

I think Suan Thip looks lovely too - I think someone asked a question about it recently and it was concluded that it looked lovely but quite a journey to get there so perhaps a lunch place rather than dinner. Laurie - when are you going? Will you be posting back? We are in Bangkok July and August and may go then

I'm always glad when Fodorites try out new things (and report back) - gives me something else to look forward to on the next trip.
