I could be wrong, but isn't this the hotel they tore down in order to put up another shopping mall in the area of Siam Discovery/Siam Center?

There is a Banyan Tree down in Phuket. Might that be what you're thinking of?

Banyan Tree in Bangkok(use to be the Westin) is situated just off of Sathorn Road. Excellent spa but I don't know about their rooms and services.

Nope there is definitely a Banyan Tree in Bangkok. Address is: 21/100 South Sathon Road, Sathon
Bangkok 10120. Thailand

check out website www.banyantree.com
It looks wonderful. Is this a better location than on the river? I thought the river was close to everything.

Hi

The Banyan Tree building is one of the taller buildings in Bangkok and as rhkkmk mentioned there is a roof top restaurant/bar called Vertigo. We went up there at night and we had a great view of the city while having a few drinks I have a friend that went to the SPA there a few years back and he said it was wonderful.

Well, I have posted a trip report with pictures from my trip to Bangkok last year on my homepage www.gardkarlsen.com. I even think I have a picture of the Banyan Tree building

Regards
Gard
