Bangkok: Silom Restaurants

Will be staying here on my next trip and need to complile a list of new restaurants to try. Here is what I have so far. Feedback and other recommendations most welcome.

Saladaeng Cafe
Opus wine Bar
Ruen Urai
Niu's
Thanying
Cafe de Laos
Sweet Basil
Aubergine
Ban Chiang
Le Bouchon

What are your favorite dishes at some of those places?

Sweet Basil is wonderful and good price. There are lots of places to eat down Convent Rd by Saladang BTS. I love Bua-try the pork satay.

I was once warned off Thanying by a friend who worked at the health ministry. Haven't eaten there since.

Ruen Urai is fantastic.

saladeng cafe is one of jim thompson cafe's and is very good.

le bouchon is one of the oldest french restaurants in bkk.. its quite small. my meal was terrible and the owner agreed with me, but my 3 companions loved their meals...

thanyang... ate there several years ago and it was quite good... most of us would not eat in any restaurant if we visited their kitchen first...

I ate at the Saladaeng Cafe last night. Good experience. Decor and atmosphere was nice. Service was very attentive with plenty of smiles all around. We had a large bowl of soup, rice, a beef dish, salad, desert and water for 700 Baht. Everything tasted great and the portions were just right. I plan to go again.

I ate a the Cafe de Laos a few nights ago. Extensive menu. Food and service was great. Good value for your money. Nice decor in an old Thai house. I'd go again.
