For those traveling to Tokyo on a very limited budget, here is a link to a list of about a dozen hotels (and their web sites) where you can stay for 3500¥ or less per person per night. List was valid as of Dec 2009. I have not stayed in any of these places so can't vouch for them.

Off topic, rizzuto, but I figure you'll see this query here: are you still planning on being in Tokyo late November and/or early December? We'd talked about maybe doing kaiten zushi. Any interest in putting together a larger GTG if you're indeed around then?

Can I suggest that you and I discuss off-line and see if we can come up with an acceptable date/time/place, then open a new topic (with more appropriate title)? I'm reachable on gmail at rizzuto77.

I can tell you that my dates have changed just slightly, and that I'd be around for a GTG in Big T on Nov 28 or Dec 1. I also spoke to hawaiiantraveler (he's in Boston for our GTG), and he will also be in Japan during that period, though apparently not in Tokyo on those dates.
