bangkok restaurant near JW Marriott
Hi,
Can you guys recommend a nice Thai restaurant near JW Marriott for a late dinner? Are the ones at the hotel any good? Have only one night, so would like a special restaurant if possible.
Thanks.

MahaNaga is fusion Thai. Good food, very interesting decor, in good weather the outside seating is great. Take a look at their website - www.mahanaga.com. Not very near but OK distance by car.

i responded to this and now it is gone....
all of the restaurants in the jw are good, esp. the thai one on the 2nd floor...
nearby are the sheraton grande and the landmark hotels which both have good restaurants....
i love crepes and co on soi 12, sukhumvit and many like cabbages and condoms next door although i find it bland...
biscotti in the four seasons hotel is excellent for italian in a very modern setting....
there are newish steak houses in both the jw marriott and the four seasons...
bed supper club is on soi 11 not far away and is a real experience with excellent food but limited menu..
jw marriott is on soi 2 btw....
many upscale restaurants stop accepting orders between 9 and 10....

Hey txtrvlr,
MahaNaga is alright, but honestly, I ended up grabbing McDonalds and Pizza Hut.
The only "wow" restaurant I ate at was the Blue Elephant - definately worth it, and one of the best rankings in Bangkok!!!
Cheers.
