Yes, it's quite famous in Bangkok, especially among the expat community. The food is quite good, with a lot of things you can't get anywhere else. It's almost always packed in the evenings.
The restaurant is a short walk from the Prom Pong BTS station, although it's in something of a red light neighborhood.

Mostly frequented by the expats crowd. regulars and visitors staying in the area. It is noted for Cajun, New Orleans type of food such as pecan crusted catfish with greens and corn on the cob. Their baby backed ribs are the best in town. They also serve a good American breakfast. Located on Sukhumvit soi 22 behind Washington square, it is worth eating there if you are in the area. A little expensive but the food is good They have a web site http://www.bourbonstbkk.com/

They have to import a lot of things, so that's always going to make things expensive. I've never thought the portions were small, but most of the times I've been there it's been a buffet, so price and quantity were not really issues. They do a buffet every Tuesday night as well as special occasions like Thanksgiving.
Doug, the owner, is an honest to goodness rednecked good ole boy, and proud of it. He gives a lot back to the community, organizing at least two charity events every year for Father Joe's school and orphanage in the Klong Toey slum.
"American" restaurants aren't at the top of my list of Bangkok restaurant recommendations, but if you want some home cooking, you could do a lot worse than Bourbon Street.
