BALI - need travel agent

Does anyone have a travel agent to recommend for Bali? I am planning a honeymoon there so would like to speak to a few people. We are looking for someone who has experience with some higher end tours and activities.

Thanks in advance!

If you have the time, it is best to put together your own plan, making flight arrangements on your own, using a discount site such as www.balidiscovery.com
for hotels, and using Putu Arnawa (mentioned frequently on this board - email [email protected]) as your driver and tour guide.

How much time do you have and how much do you want to spend per night on hotels? Where are you flying from? We'll be happy to give you suggestions...

Thanks. We were hoping to find someone who could pull a lot of the details together for us, arrange transportation, etc. From our preliminary research we were thinking about some time at an aman resort on the coast and then moving inland to maybe uma ubud...and that was as far as we got. Overall, we would like a 2 week trip with a variety of experiences and activities.

Actually, it sounds like you have done enough research to plan the trip on your own. All you need are flights in and out and your hotels. Taxis from the airport are easy or you can arrange a transfer with your hotel. You'll want a driver for some days, and Craig has given you the recommendation of a driver that many people like.

You can arrange any activities once you get to Bali. It'll be cheaper and you'll know more about what you do or don't want to do.

I did a trip report on Balitravelforum - it might give you some ideas as we spent 12 days there split among 3 locations:

Someone else on the forum recommended this agent based in California: http://www.balibarongtours.com/

I have not yet booked with her, but she is very prompt with emails and had great airfare rates on Singapore Air.

You can also contact Bali Paradise Holidays. It is co-owned by Steve, a British expat who has lived in Bali for over 25 years. He is extremely knowledgeable and a nice guy whose company donates 5% of their fees to two children's charities. They have over 60 employees throughout Indonesia.

Their website is currently down for redesign and should be back up soon. You can email Steve personally at [email protected]
His mobile number in Indonesia is +62 8593513577 and if you give him a quick call, he'll call you back from one of their offices as they use Skype which is very inexpensive for international calls.

You can also contact Roe over at Escapes Unlimited down in Orange County...south of L.A. I don't have the info in front of me, but my best friend has been going to Bali since the mid 90s and has always booked through them. I've spoken with Roe, who is quite nice, but have never booked through the agency as I plan my trips on my own. But, she does have some good deals. And they are a Bali specialist. Happy Honeymoon and Happy Travels!

My husband and I and another couple used Puta on our October trip to Bali. I would highly reccomend him. He also has another site you can look at besides the one mentioned by craig
www.balifriend.net
www.balifriend.net/bali-notes
He responded to all my e-mails,picked us up at our hotel and took us tho where we wanted to go. My friend & I wanted 1 extra shopping day and since Puta was booked up he had his brother take us and he was equally as good(Although he works on a cruise ship and is not there all the time-we just lucked out)
Bali is the BEST enjoy-I hope to go back some day-Chris.

Give Gregg at Innovasian.com a call. He's been very helpful to several Asian Fodorites.

We have used Floressa Tours a couple of times and have found them to be reasonable and accomodating. Ask for Paul, he is one of the top people in the organization.
