Bali honeymoon

Heading to Bali for a 10-day honeymoon.

Does someone have a suggested itinerary that mixes a few beach days with some touring and local adventures?

Thanks!

you will love bali...the people are wonderful and there is lots to do and see there and tons of shopping...

last year we had our first trip of 7 days...we spent the whole time in the south where most of the lux hotels are located....during the day, on most days, we had a driver (putu is his name and he is often mentioned on this board)...he took us all around the island and to many places that tourists do not go on their own....for a long day his charge was about $40 (10-12 hours)....he does shorter days for less money as well... we saw a lot....this is a good way to become aquainted with bali...he even took us to his family home...he is young and lots of fun...he has a nice toyota suv which is very comfortable...

some days we spent the moring on the beach/pool and then he came at 1PM to pick us up or we went out with him in the AM and returned at mid-day for relaxation at the hotel...

most of our time was spent in the town of sanur...we stayed there at the bali hyatt...the town is nice and laid back and has a mix of shopping and entertainment as well as beach front hotels in every range...i would stay there again...

you don't speak about budget so it is hard to advise you...you might want to add that so we know what you want to do...

There is quite a bit to do in Bali, so I suggest you split your time between the beach areas and Ubud, perhaps 5 days in Sanur or Jimbaran and 5 in Ubud.

Having a private driver is a big plus, all my friends use Made Jendra and have a wonderful time. He will be able to take you to his home village in Kedewatan, Ubud to taste local life, attend the Balinese Hindu ceremonies, walk through rice padis and forests and really experience Bali. Of course there are lots of good drivers, so you can decide when you get here what you want to do.

Suggested things to do, depending on what you would like to do would be:

Temples: (too many to list)
River rafting, Bird Park, elephant park, balinese massages and spa treatments, walk through rice padi and hillsides, Botanical Garden, Monkey Forest, shopping for art and antiques, Excellent performances of dances and puppets every night in Ubud Palace and other places in Ubud, cooking and other lessons, diving and snorkeling in either Menjangan, Amed or Nusa Lembongan, of course seeing ceremonies either in temples or the procession ceremonies, Water Bom park, Museums, and so on.

It would be really hard ot give you an itenerary because you might want to have a massage every day, which would eat into your sightseeing time. Also, ceremonies often pop up at the last minute and you might want ot drop everything to see it, or you might want to just relax.

thank you for the responses - would love to hear more!

As for budget - we are on our honeymoon....so on average about $200/day (mix of luxury hotels and moderate hotels)....perhaps some villas
