Avg. price of Klongs?

Going to BKK for the first time on Friday. Just wondering what the going rate for klongs are.

Thanks!

suds,
See today's thread on first time klong tours. Maybe it will help. We were two couples and paid 1000 Baht (for all of us) for 2 hours in November at the beginning of the Loi Krathong festival so don't know if prices fluctuate. Whatever you do will be a really unusual experience that you'll enjoy.

Hi suds,
Have a great time! We just returned from BKK, also first-time visitors, and I wrote a report about our trip. See "Just back: report from beachside resort, Part I, and BKK, Part II, written on 1/1 and 1/2/06. In the BKK section, I wrote a piece about our experience with hiring a private klong ride. You will then have a sense of the "going rates" as well as "consumer beware" risk!

What we ended up paying for a klong ride was the same as 123Go's experience in November, but if you have not done your homework ahead of time, you can be taken for a "ride," literally and figuratively! Please refer to my report.

i think the rock bottom rate is 400 B per hour per boat...lately i have seen reports of 500 to 800 B per hour....one person even reported 1000B per person per trip...

i think that if you planned on 1000-1200 B for a 2 hour trip you would be spot on....it is worth 3 times that amount....don't miss it....great viewing, great education, and fabulous picture taking, plus a nice restful adventure....

I paid 700 bht for one hr 10 mins for 4 of us last week. I did barter a lot with the "tout" at the pier who started off wanting 1600 bht.
Well worth it.
