Attn Helen63!

I've returned and would love to share some of my impressions about Smartours. Are you out there? It was a wonderful trip and I really enjoyed it. We ended up skipping quite a few of the optional tours. In Bangkok, we only did the Grand Palace Tour optional. We did go to the Oriental hotel and from their dock we rented our own longboat to do a tour of the khlongs and it was much more reasonably priced and on our time schedule. Let me know your email or if you're checking this board and I'll post more.

Hi, MLO1970! I was looking for your feedback, but unfortunatly it came too late, because my departure was on Feb, 13
I am back now, and we had a wonderful time also, but I wish we did more on our own, than taking optional tours. Like, floating market/rose garder, we should of done on our own, skipping the rose garden. We took the khlongs tour with them (it seemed easier at that time), but wish we did on our own using the longboat like you. In fact we took most of the tours with them except kantoke dinner, dinner cruise, farewell dinner, and arts and crafts. What else did you do? What is you opinion on Smartours? What restaurants did you go?

I thought the Smartours were good. It was nicely organized, and the hotels were good for the money. The hotel was especially nice in Chiang Mai. We did a lot of optional tours with them, because it seemed easier at that time. Most of the optional tours were fine, but it would be several times cheaper to do it on the own. The only tour I did not like was Floating Market/Rose garden. They got us to the Floating market too late, and did not give enough time to enjoy. Rose garden can be skipped, even though some people liked it. We regret we did not do the Floating market on our own. Also, there was too many shopping stops IMO (also all stores they stopped at were terribly overpriced). We had two guides, one of them was pretty good, but you need to ask a lot of questions if you like to get more information. Overall, we had a very good time, and would go with SmartTours again. We had a lady in our group, who has done 7 tours with Smartours and she loved them all.
