Angkor Wat Itinerary

I would like to know how feasible it is to get over to see this site from Singapore for 2 days and then see some other sites for a total of 6 days (total of 8 days to spend). I am arriving in Singapore on December 19 on my way to India. I will be traveling with my wife and two children (8 & 12). I have wanted to see Angkor Wat since studying it in college. However, I also have to fit in things that my children will enjoy. Lastly, I would like to know how I should go about booking the flight once I'm in Singapore or beforehand. I read that its high season so I should book the flight before I leave along with all hotels. I need help looking in the right place for this. We are wanting to spend in the midrange for hotels. All suggestions will be greatly appreciated as we are short on time now for planning this.

I have two suggestions:

Make up your mind where you're travelling. So far, in the last few weeks you've wasted our time with Morocco, Madrid, Kerala, Thailand, Laos and now Cambodia.

Please, get a map, a guide book AND a travel agent. Life's too short.

Two days should be plenty in Siem Reap. You can fly there directly with Silk Air (part of Singapore Air) or JetStar from Singapore. No need to stop in Bangkok.

You can fly on SIlk Air from Singapore to Siem Reap (not every day, but several time a week). For me, two days would not be enough. It takes three full days just to see the so-called major temples. I spent a week and could easily spend another week there. But decide what your priority is. It is high season. If you want to go, book both flights and hotels in advance.

It sound to me like you have too many options. Your task is to narrow it down. None of you will be happy if you waste your mere 8 days flying from place to place.

Thanks for your feedback. Every three months I go to India and stopover somewhere. Once a year, I travel with my family. I had intended to go to Spain, but I received feedback after my initial posting that flights thru Europe were double with this late of notice. So at this point, I am purchasing my typical flight pattern into Singapore then onto India. So there's the dilemma: go onto somewhere new in India or head somewhere else entirely. I am trying to narrow it down based on a cost/time comparison. I haven't been too excited about the itineraries that I've read on tour guides sites for Kerala. So now Im just exploring the other options before I commit to something.

Thanks for feedback TXY & Kathie. This makes it sound more feasible if we can just get to SR straight from Singapore. Since its just for 8 days that we have. What do you think would be enough time to spend in SR ? Most of those who have posted said that 2 to 3 days is sufficient. If this is the case, where else should we try to see in consideration of what I've explained? I will check with Silk Air and Jetstar on pricing because I am weighing my itinerary against what it will cost for a roundtrip domestic flight within India from North to South versus a flight from Singapore to SR.
