Anantara elephant trekk
My fiance and I will be spending two days at the Anantara for our honeymoon in December. The hotel sent us their elephant trekking pamphlet. does anyone recommend a particular trekk (the 2 hr adventure trek, 1hr hill trek etc). we are not really interested in learning how to drive the elephants but are more concerned about seeing the surrounding countryside and villages if possible.
Also, has anyone partaken in Anantaras "dining by design". if so, we would love suggestions.
thank you, looking forward to responses!

There was a recent post on this.
Really, the biggest question is how much time do you want to spend on the back of an elephant? I don't believe any of the elephant treks go through villages, so you are just seeing countryside.

Our sons did the one-day mahout package and loved it (although one fell in the river while bathing his elephant). My husband and I did the two-hour trek and found it to be the perfect length. Kathie is right - You will see countryside, but not villages.
