Airport hotel in hong kong

Hi
I will be transiting through HK. I have 8 hrs to kill between flights. Since I will have 2 kids with me, is there a hotel at the airport that I can book a room for a day?. I am not looking forward to spending 8 hrs on the airport with a 4yr and a 8 month old.

Thanks
Girish

There is ONE airport hotel at HKG, the Regal Airport. However, it's usually way overpriced - often about US$300 a night. Don't know if they have day rate or not.

There's also a couple of paid lounge facilites in the airside (i.e. secured) side of the airport. Forgot the name, but it's not cheap. And don't get the so-called beds for sleeping - facilities there were reported very minimal with little privacy.

[Well, you see, the airport was planned and built in the go-go 80's and 90's; and the authorities thought that everybody can afford a US$300 4* hotel, and don't need anything else...]

Yes, the HK Regal Airport Hotel is expensive! However, I booked a room directly through its own website and was able to reserve for only $154. I will need to bring along my AARP membership card, though, to prove that I am an AARP person.

I found the HK Int'l airport one of the best in the world in terms of quality service. It may not appear as friendly as its next door Singaporean neighbour, but one only has to wander a bit (time permitting) to check its superior facilities and services.

Check out the Plaza Premier lounge inside the airport for their overnight package or day package(open 24 hrs)which are quite reasonable on www.plaza-ppl.com

This Co also operates similar lounge services in the Kuala Lumpur, Singapore & Vancouver Int'l airports.

Otherwise the highly expensive Regal airport hotel is the only option.

Some of the airport lounges may not accept children. Worthwhile checking.
