airline options BKK to Rome

What are some good airline options to get from Bangkok to Rome? I don't even know where to start...

Anyone ever flown on Emirates?

I've read a number of excellent reviews of Emirates on this board.

Thai:
has non stop 747's but no seatback PTV's.
Emirates:
has a daily via Dubai departs 0225 arrives ROM 1050, 777 ( only downer there is the 10 seats across instead of normal 9 so seats on their 777 in Coach are narrow but att with PTV's)
Qatar Airways:
via Doha, either 0750 arr 1730 or 2000 arr 0545, PTV's if their A-330's
Other options ( without 'backtracking') are daily Turkish airlines via IST, A 340 to IS% with seatback PTV then I guess narrow body on to ROM.
Austrian via VIE, wide body to VIE then narrow to ROM, Lufthansa vua Munich ( no PTV's ).

I would go for Thai/Emirates/Qatar, you'll probably find best fares on Qatar or Emirates.

Eddy at SEAtours would give you cheap fares on those.

I booked my inter-asia airfare with Eddie for the upcoming trip in feb. Don't know why I didn't think to check with him on this.

Awesome. Thanks.

Emirates is good in terms of flexibility as they have up to 3 a day BKK to Dubai.
