Airline dilemma: Flying from LAX to BKK and Cebu.

Can anybody help about which airline will be better to flight from LAX to Bangkok and then to Cebu Philippines? Of course I am looking for a safe flight, shortest and most economical one. I was looking at EVA airlines, I never heard of them, have a good deal, also Korean or Asiana? It's better to buy a one way to BKK and then flight to Cebu in another airline? Air Phillippines have a cheap flight. I can't get a flight from Thai air online. Do I have to call the airlines? last, my husband has long legs, should we get economy plus? which airline has the most space in front?

Hi Carola, I am totally confused. Are you intentionally stopping in BKK, then that is a game changer. I would just treat each leg separately. However, if you want to go direct from LAX to CEB, then take Philippine Airlines. I put in a random day in March, and the fare was $823. I would never, ever add an additional segment when flying to my destination, unless that was part of the trip. So many things can do wrong--your luggage could get lost, or there could be delays that cause you to miss your connection.

I typically go to the website kyak.com to plug in various destinations and see what comes up. Then I go directly to the carrier's website and book there.

Regarding the seats, a great website is seatguru.com. You can put in a specific flight, and you can see the pitch between the seats as well as which seat is best. Perhaps you and your hubs can snag an emergency row or bulkhead seat in coach, so that he may have more legroom.

I'm also confused on whether you're flying to Bangkok and then staying there for a while and then flying on to the Philippines. If not, then I'd also just fly from LAX to the Philippines. There are no more, non-stop flights to Bangkok from L.A. Thai Air used to have an 18-hour non-stop as I used to take it.

I'm from L.A. and fly to Bangkok almost annually. I just got back from being away for 6 weeks, but I take Singapore Air and go to Singapore first and then sleep at the transit hotel, in the airport, and fly on to Bangkok later in the morning as the flight gets into Singapore at 3:25AM, from L.A. I just flew in both Business Class and Premium Economy which were both very nice. I personally prefer Singapore Air over the other airlines that I've taken. I've been flying to the region since the 1990s.

Happy Travels!

Sorry about the confusion! Yes, I'm flying to BKK and staying 8 days and then flying to Cebu. I found a good deal, I think with Korean airlines, for about $800 dollars round trip from LAX in Kayak. Now I'm shopping for an airfare to Cebu and from Cebu to Boracay. Is there any way to fly from Boracay to BKK?
Thanks everybody!!!

Nope, you have to fly through Manila to get back to BKK. Probably makes most sense to stick with one carrier that can get you from BKK to Boracay and back, and that seems to be Philippine Airlines.
