Airfare LAX to Bangkok $1200

We are trying to book airfare from LAX to BKK.
$1200 is the least expensive. Another other deals out there? Is is with Thai Airways.
Thanks!

What? I live in LA area and airfare can be had for as low as the mid $600.rd.trip...Thai friends go to Bangkok all the time.I go to Bk about once/twice a year and have found decent airfares just dealing directly with the airlines. Call up Star Travel in Thai Town off of Hollywood Blvd in Hollywood. I just walked into Thai Air..two months ago... down on Sepulveda Blvd...south of the 105...on the southeast corner of Sepulveda and Grand... and bought a ticket for Dec 2005. I didn't even call before I walked in...just showed up and told them the dates... and paid $1050 rd.trip for December which is high season. I didn't feel like shopping around.Plus on Thai Air if you have to cancel, you can cancel at anytime before your outward trip and get all of your money back minus only $75.00. They just recredit your credit card over the phone. I've done this before. It's real easy.Thai Air is usually between $850.-$1050 to Bangkok from L.A.The ticket I cancelled in April 2004 was less than $850. Also check out skyauction.com. Happy Travels!

$1200 is way way to high from LA. Check Out EVA Air- you should be able to get that route for about $700-$800.

Guenmai, do you by change have Star Travel 's number? I tried Eva, China Air, Cathay , Japan Air, Korean Air, Thai Air. The least expensive would be $1065 to use muliple airlines and 2-3 hours lay over.
Thai Air was the most practical with non-stop to Bangkok.

Are you trying to go over Christmas or something? That seems to be the only time I've seen the fares that high. Thai Air is almost always your most expensive option.

havn't you checked out the travel section on your local newspaper that where consolidators usually post some decent fares. (it dosn't mean you'll get the price they quote on the newspaper but you should get something better the 1 grand..

I don't have Star Travel's number. Maybe the Thai Tourist Board on Larchmont might has it. It'll take me until the weekend to get it.I'm too busy this week. Oh, also go to the Flight Centre. There is one in the Century City Shopping Center attached to the outside of Macy's...along that walkway between Macy's and Louis Vuitton. There's also one in the Glendale Galleria and one on Fair Oaks south of Colorado Blvd in Old Town Pasadena across from the Cheesecake Factory. As for Star Travel....try looking up Star Tours...I have the number somewhere, but can't find it now. This is one of those well-kept secret places that my Thai friends go to...It's on a side street to Hollywood Blvd...1-2 blocks east of Western.Got to go. Happy Travels!

I just read the above post on a Star Travel in Beverly Hills...I really don't think that's the same one. The one I'm talking about is in Hollywood, near Western...near Thai Town...which is nowhere near Beverly Hills unless they have moved. Happy Travels!

Lucy Ho- Singapore Airlines usually costs a fortune if you're just buying the airfare portion. They have reasonable packages however. Plus they charge you extra if you want to get frequent flyer miles.I've contacted them several times and it's the same thing again and again with them. Happy Travels!

Laurie Ann- Yes, the above Star Tours/Star Travel is the correct one. Yesterday I got a hold of two different Thai contacts and that's the one that was e-mailed to me. I was just going to post it. It's one of those well-kept secrets that folks don't want to give up information on.I called information, but there was no listing and I couldn't find the number that I had written down over a year ago, so I had to start from scratch in finding it. I think we should all share as much useful information as possible that's why I put it on there. Anyhow, here are two more L.A. agents...USA Gateway (213)383-6360 and Econo Travel (323)671-2288. These too were hard to come by. Happy Travels!
